Get R DONE FRIDAY

Today I am taking part in a new MEME called GET R DONE FRIDAY be sure to go to ClassyChassy's blog to see the other items that your friends have been working on.
I want to thank her for hosting this great MEME it helps give me a little push each week to finish projects I've started and a chance to see what others are doing.
Yesterday I posted a blog about a cute chicken Rissa had bought me, you can read about it here.
Today I want to show what I did with the little "henny penny" as Rissa calls her...she loved it and DH said it was sooo me...wonder why, never painted anything like it before...oh wait I may have painted one or two things like it before..lol...Any whoooo.....Remember this?
I spray painted the whole thing black and then just did my own thing...I started by just making comma strokes and then what I call rain drops to make it look like neck and body feathers...
painted the comb and waddle red, added shading with black and high-lited with yellow
The beak was painted yellow and shaded with burnt sennia and high-lited with pale yellow
Don't know where I want to put her yet, but I do believe she is a keeper....NOW...Maybe I'll keep it here to hang my aprons & hot dog griller on...

  20. Hi again, Molly! Thought I'd check out some of your other blogs, too. I do pencil sketches and have started to work in Pastel chalks and Prismacolor pencil this past year. I, too, tend to draw my grandkids or my corgi kids mostly, though this year I branched out and did a portrait of Mango, a big Mastiff, and won a Chairman's Choice award at the Kern County Fair. We (his owner and I) used it as the logo for the big Dog Blog Dog show, Mango Minster 2010 in January, so there is a pic. of the drawing in the sidebar of my Country Corgi blog if you are interested.
